In the rescue’s words

Meet Libby — Professional Napper & Part-Time Chihuahua Libby is a 10-year-old Chihuahua mix who has perfected the art of taking life at her own pace. Her favorite activities include lounging on her dog bed, enjoying the comforts of home, and generally reminding everyone that she has absolutely no interest in being rushed. ❤️ Libby does have some special medical needs. She has a severe case of luxating patellas and significant arthritis, but don’t let that fool you — this little lady gets around remarkably well! She will need to continue monthly Librela injections to help keep her comfortable and manage her arthritis. At about 5 pounds, Libby is a tiny girl. She is currently a little thin, but because her joints are already significantly compromised, we do not want her gaining additional weight. Keeping her at a healthy, lean weight is important to help minimize stress on her already stretched-thin joints. And then there’s Libby’s personality. In true Chihuahua fashion, Libby is not exactly a “hello, stranger, let’s be best friends!” kind of girl. She can be very standoffish when meeting new people and will need time to decide that you are worthy of her trust. She is looking for someone who understands that relationships take time and is willing to let her come around at her own pace. Once she settles in, Libby is actually a very easy little companion. She doesn’t need a busy lifestyle or a packed social calendar. Give her a comfortable dog bed, a peaceful home, and someone willing to respect her boundaries, and she’ll be perfectly content to snooze the day away. Because of her age, medical needs, and desire for a calm environment, Libby needs a patient home with no children under 15. Libby is looking for: A patient adopter who will allow her time to decompress and build trust A calm, predictable home ❤️ Someone committed to her ongoing medical care, including monthly Librela injections ⚖️ A home that will help her maintain a healthy, lean weight No children under 15 ️ And, preferably, a very comfortable dog bed Libby may not be the dog who runs into your arms on the first meeting — and honestly, she would probably prefer that you didn't. But if you’re willing to let this little senior lady take things at her own pace, you may just earn yourself a devoted companion who is perfectly happy to spend her golden years right by your side. Libby isn't looking for a perfect home. She's looking for the right one. Her adoption fee is $200 and she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. If you can give this sweet, spicy, sassy girl the best end of her life she promises she will be thankful, maybe just not right away though.
