Life with Tanbo: Roo’s summary

Howroo! That’s hello in dog. Let’s picture life with Tanbo.

A health note about Tanbo

Personality & daily life

  • Affection & connection

The rescue says: “What I’m really looking for is a cozy home, some soft treats, a warm blanket, and humans who love to cuddle as much as I do.”

Health & care from the listing

  • Ask the rescue for the full picture: diagnosis, treatment so far, ongoing medication or vet visits, and expected costs, so you can decide with confidence.

The rescue says: “I have Cushing’s disease and low B12, which means I’ll need medication for the rest of my life.”

Things to look out for

  • Ask what triggers chasing or herding and what introductions and supervision are needed.

The rescue says: “I also tend to chase cats, so a cat-free home would probably be best.”
  • Discuss these household restrictions or support needs before deciding.

The rescue says: “I also take a little medicine for separation anxiety when my humans leave, but if you’re just gone for a few hours, I’ll handle it like a champ.”

Questions to confirm with the rescue

  • How do they handle time alone, and what does their daily routine look like?
  • What have you observed around children and other pets, and how should introductions work?
  • What care, medication, vet follow-up, or costs should I plan for?

In the rescue’s words

Hi, I’m Tanbo… but my friends call me Snoop! I was adopted as a puppy and sadly found my way back to the rescue due to family circumstances. While that wasn’t the plan, I’m hoping my forever family is still out there waiting for me! I’m a very curious and inquisitive guy—I love to sniff around and investigate everything going on in my world. When I first came back to the rescue, stuffed toys were actually banned for me because I used to immediately shred them. The good news? I’ve improved! I can have them again now… although I’ll admit I still enjoy chewing on them and occasionally pulling some stuffing out. Old habits die hard. When it comes to playmates, I really enjoy dogs that are smaller than me—they’re my kind of crowd! Bigger dogs, though? I’d rather keep my distance. I also tend to chase cats, so a cat-free home would probably be best. I would also do best in a home without younger children, as I prefer a calmer environment where I can relax and feel comfortable. One of my favorite things in the world is treats and cuddling with my humans. If you have a blanket, just know it automatically becomes our blanket. In fact, if you see a lump under a blanket on the couch, you might want to check before sitting down… it could be me! Because I only have 21 teeth left, crunchy treats are a little tough for me to chew. Softer chews are my favorite! And since I’m missing a few teeth, my tongue hangs out about 95% of the time, which just adds to my charm. As a senior gentleman, I do have a couple medical conditions. I have Cushing’s disease and low B12, which means I’ll need medication for the rest of my life. I also take a little medicine for separation anxiety when my humans leave, but if you’re just gone for a few hours, I’ll handle it like a champ. What I’m really looking for is a cozy home, some soft treats, a warm blanket, and humans who love to cuddle as much as I do. If that sounds like you, I think we might be a perfect match.
